Bible Story - The Flood Went Down

Add to Technorati Favorites

God didn’t forget Noah and his family and the animals and birds that were with them in the boat. God sent a strong wind to blow across the earth. This made the water to start going down.

God stopped the underground water from flowing and the great rain from falling.

After 150 days, the boat came to rest on a mountain call Mountains of Ararat.

The water continued to go down for another two and half months and other mountain peaks started to appear.

Noah Leaves the Boat

Noah opened the boat’s windows forty days after the mountain peaks became visible.
He sent out a raven to inspect the condition of the water on earth. The raven didn’t come back. It continued to fly around until the earth became dry.

Noah later sent out a dove to see if the water had gone down. The dove didn’t find a place to land because the water still covered the ground. So it returned to the boat.

Noah waited another seven days and sent out the dove again. The dove returned to Noah. But this time it had a fresh olive leaf in its beak. This was a sign that told Noah that the floodwaters were almost gone.

Noah waited another seven days and sent out the dove again. But the dove didn’t come back this time.

Noah opened the covering of the boat and he saw that the ground was drying. The ground finally dried after two months.

After the ground dried, God said to Noah, “Go out of the boat with your wife, your sons, and their wives. Take all the birds and animals out with you, so that they may reproduce and spread over all the earth.”

Noah, his wife, his sons and their wives left the boat. All the animals and birds also left the boat.
